Hi, i have only used ttsx in 130gr doin 3050 fps and 150 gr doin 2830fps. The 130 gr opened up great as did the 150 gr i really like them. I have never found one in a deer they all have gone through leaving about a 1 inch exit wound and a very good blood trail. Great projectiles! Federal Barnes TSX .308 Win, 165 Gr, 20 Rds ... Oct 08, 2013 · I think a 130 gr TTSX is a good place to be with a 308. If I were loading up 308 I would go to that bullet and have in the past only in 30-06 but the 150 will work too. That said once you get TTSX bullets up to hyper speed like 3500+ they do some weird things. I loaded some 95 gr TTSX bullets in Description. Initially a wildcat cartridge developed by Roy Weatherby in 1959 at the request of the United States Army. This white-hot cartridge is based on the 378 necked down to 30 caliber and packed with powder. TTSX is a great bullet in 30 caliber. Flies straight and hits hard. We have been getting good results with 130, 150 and 168 for 308 Win. You can load down one notch for each hunting situation (e.g. 130 instead on 150 for deer) because of better weight retention for the all copper construction.

When I had a 308 was using 130gr TTSX on big reds with quick kills, they punch through shoulders and leg bones into vitals. Now using 125gr Nosler BT’s and 125gr SST’s @ 1995 FPS in a 300 blackout out to 300m mostly on goats but using on deer when I run out of subsonics on the odd trip.
